About Tackfully Teamed

Tackfully Teamed Riding Academy is a therapeutic horseback riding center. The center is in Henry, VA and began operation, in October 2003. Tackfully Teamed is designed to provide therapeutic riding to persons of all ages with disabilities (physical, developmental, emotional, and learning disabled). Presently, the ages of our riders range from 3 to 87 . Some of the disabilities that benefit from therapeutic riding are multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, Down Syndrome, Prader-Willi Syndrome, cerebral palsy, paralysis, alzheimers, spina bifida, amputations, traumatic brain injury, autism, strokes, ADHD, and other cognitive and emotional problems.
The therapeutic value of a relationship between a horse and a rider has been proven to be physically, psychologically, and socially beneficial to individuals with or without disabilities.  Tackfully Teamed teaches individuals how to react with horses. This includes instruction in safety, grooming and care, preparation for riding, and actual riding. The center also includes other ground activities. Individuals, with varying disabilities, have varying degrees of ability, and different goals. Goals are set for each individual rider with objectives to meet each goal. Tackfully Teamed Riding Academy is a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH) Center, and a member of the Therapeutic Riding Association of Virginia (TRAV) and has a director, 3 certified therapuetic riding instructors, a bookkeeper, and a barn manager.
